Sinclair Spectrum 128 - 1985
This managed to look almost identical to the Spectrum+ though was radically different and improved. Firstly, it came with 128KB of memory, 3 times more then the Spectrum. It came with far better external connectivity such as serial printer and external monitor ports. It also had a proper sound chip rather than the original's horrible little speaker capable of creating single notes. To handle all this technology and also to update it against its competitors, the 128 came with a new BASIC. To allow users to play all those thousands of Spectrum games, however, you could still start the computer in 48K mode for which it had a copy of the 48K ROM so was really two computers in one.
